Now, the album that’s been trading for $4000 on ebay can be enjoyed by everyone. ‘Tche Belew’ is a 1977 dynamo of instrumentals from this seminal Ethiopian jazz and funk ensemble. Featuring specail guest Mulatu Astatke and a who’s-who of awesome musicians from the era, this full-length encapsulates all that is good and holy in Ethiopian popular music from the post-revolution period, a time of great political turmoil and the “Red Terror” campaign. Heavy stuff—so excited for you to hear this!”
